Manual Lymph Drainage. What is it & Do you need it?
Manual Lymph Drainage is becoming ever more popular as the general public become more aware of their own body and lymphatic system. With modern lifestyles causing many different health problems and putting a huge strain on our body's, it's no wonder that our lymph systems & nodes are becoming stagnant & congested. Manual drainage is basically fisical stimulation of the lymph channels through gentle massaging techniques, stimulating lymph circualtion. Generally a course of 6 sessions is required to receive any real benefit and although the massages can be very effective, they are no cure in themselves and only help to push lymph around the body and ease any swelling which may have been caused such as lymphedema. Because of their expense, they are only really recommended as an extra treatment in treating lymphatic problems and should not be relied upon as a cure. Proper diet and exercise are essential to receive the full benefits of manual drainage massages.
