Lymph Node Cancer
Lymph node cancer accounts for approximately five percent of all cancers. Cancer can develop in the lymph nodes in two ways. It can either start there as a primary cancer, or it can spread into the lymph nodes from a primary cancer elsewhere in the body. If cancer spreads into the lymph nodes from another part of the body, this is known as secondary or metastatic cancer. Cancer that starts in the lymph nodes themselves is called lymphoma. This type of cancer can be difficult to treat as it may spread throughout the body via the lymphatic system, causing other parts of the body to be affected. Cancerous tumours are made up of millions of cells. Some of these cells may break away from the primary cancer and travel in the bloodstream or the lymphatic system to another part of the body. Cancer found in lymph nodes in an area far away from the original tumor is usually recognised as being a secondary rather than a new primary cancer. In some people, when the original tumour is diagnosed, doctors will also remove some nearby lymph nodes. It is important to know whether or not a primary cancer has spread to any nearby lymph nodes, because it helps the doctors to estimate the risk of the cancer coming back, and to decide whether or not further treatment is necessary. Like all other cancers, early detection and treatment are key to a greater chance of recovery. To increase chances of beating this type of cancer you need to take immediate action. Look at your diet and cut out any foods & drinks which may contribute to this condition and consume more of the foods which strenghten the lymphatic system increasing it's ability and efficiancy in fighting cancer cells. Diet plays a big role in fighting cancer and should be one of the first things to be looked at. Exercising can be a difficult issue as exercise increases circulation which in turn increases the chance of spreading the cancer cells throughout the body. Always talk to a doctor when considering exercising as it may have a negative effect. There are certain foods and supplements which contain cancer fighting properties, which help to slow the spread of the cancer and kill the mutated cells.
